It is 875 square miles and has a population of over 313,000 plus. Located in Northwest Florida, Escambia County is the most western county bordering Alabama, Gulf of Mexico, and Santa Rosa County. Escambia County named for the Escambia River, was established in 1821 and was one of the first two counties in Florida.
